The Adhesion Society’s Award for Excellence in Adhesion Science,
sponsored by 3M, is the Society’s premier award for outstanding
achievements in scientific research relating to adhesion. The
criteria for winning this award include:
-
A scientific
contribution that has significantly improved our understanding of
the phenomenon of adhesion, or a contribution to the technology of
adhesion or adhesives that has had significant impact on the
adhesion/adhesives industry.

World-wide recognition of that achievement.

The award has been
given annually since 1987. Click

winners. The Award includes:

A monetary award
provided by the 3M Company.

An award plaque inscribed with a description of the achievement
-
An award symposium organized in honor of the recipient and, if
appropriate,
-
A special issue of the Journal of Adhesion containing the
proceedings of the Award Symposium.
Nominations for this
Award are always welcome. The nominator should prepare the following
documents:
-
A Letter of Nomination
describing the reasons why the nominee should be considered for
the Award
-
A proposed 15-word description of the nominee’s contribution,
for the Award plaque
-
A vitae or resume of the awardee’s contributions
-
A list of publications, patents, etc
-
A supporting letter from inside the United States
-
A supporting letter from outside of the United States
-
Any other supporting letters or information that would help the
Selection Committee make its decision
Nomination information
can be sent via e-mail, but the nomination letter and supporting
letters should be sent via regular mail. The nomination should be
submitted by January, 1 of the year in which the nomination is to be
considered. Awardees are normally chosen during the Annual meeting
preceding the year of the presentation of the Award.
