The
Structural Adhesives
Division of the Adhesion Society |
|
Adhesives are increasingly employed
in applications that require significant load carrying capability,
fatigue strength, and long-term environmental durability.
However, there are many barriers that such structural adhesives
must overcome to gain increased entry into bonding primary
structures. In response to this increasing challenge the
Structural Adhesives Division was formed during the Society’s 2003
Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach, SC. As part of the Division’s
initiation three sessions were organized, which concentrated on
the areas of durability, mechanics and modeling, and adhesive
development. These excellent papers and the significant
attendance they garnered are representative of the high level of
activity and interest in structural adhesives.
Mission
Statement
The function of the Structural
Adhesion Division is to assist the dissemination of scientific and
technical information through its action as a clearly recognizable
neutral forum for the exchange of research and development
knowledge on this specific topic. Areas of interest to the
Division include but are not limited to:

The
Structural Adhesives Division will actively solicit speakers and
will organize sessions at the Annual Meeting concentrating on
topics of vital importance to structural
If you are
interested in assisting with the Division or wish to present a
paper on structural adhesives please contact a member of the
